{"id":212,"date":"2018-12-30T10:09:46","date_gmt":"2018-12-30T02:09:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.clarityscreening.sg\/?p=212"},"modified":"2021-02-18T10:29:02","modified_gmt":"2021-02-18T02:29:02","slug":"1709-secondary-school-students-found-to-be-drug-positive","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.clarityscreening.sg\/1709-secondary-school-students-found-to-be-drug-positive\/","title":{"rendered":"1,709 secondary school students found to be drug positive"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KAJANG, Dec 28 \u2014 A total of 1,709 secondary school students in 176 high-risk areas was found to be positive on drugs as of October this year, said the Director-General of the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK),\u00a0Datuk Seri Zulkifli Abdullah.<\/p>\n<p>He said high-risk areas in Sarawak, Kedah and\u00a0Kelantan\u00a0recorded the highest percentage of students involved in drug abuse.<\/p>\n<div id=\"misc-ads\"><\/div>\n<p>\u201cA total of 41,741 students ranging from 13 to 17 years old in the high-risk areas has undergone urine screening and of this figure, 1,709 were found to be drug positive. Most of them were found to be positive on the methamphetamine type of drugs,\u201d he said at a media conference, here today.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, he said that besides school students, the screening also covered public and private sector agencies to track down those\u00a0involved in drug abuse.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ml-lg-0 ml-sm-2 mb-3\">\n<div class=\"ads text-center\">\n<div id=\"mm-story-mreg-2\" class=\"my-3\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cNext year, we will empower further the screening to assist in the detection of drug abusers at the work place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to help those with problems, not to find fault with anyone.
