Drug and Alcohol Testing services for shipowners. The tests can be done either at the anchorage, a terminal or at drydock. OCIMF suggests a list of substances that include, but not be limited to, marijuana, cocaine, opiates, phencyclidine (PCP) and amphetamines and their derivatives that should be tested. Ship crew is generally tested for these 5 drugs and may include additional drugs depending on the availability of specific drugs.

Onboard testing urine is done in the privacy of the ship’s hospital. The bathroom is prepared for the collection of the urine sample. A crew of 20-25 typically takes just over 2 hours. Oral fluid testing can be conducted in more areas on the ship.
